FANCY FOOTWEAR

I love shoes. I love high heels, the higher the better. OK, maybe I’d max out at 5 inches. After all it’s not like I’m the Statue of Liberty.

Rick thinks I have enough shoes. I tried to tell him I owe it to my public to wear cute shoes. OK, so maybe I don’t exactly have a public but I have a person and I only see her in public. She is a cute lady from church who actually gets up off of her chair and walks to where I am standing just to look at my shoes. Besides, she is older than me by about 20 years so it’s harder for her to get around. Don’t I owe her a pair of shoes that make her trip worth her while?

When I go to the bathroom people can tell it’s me just by looking under the stalls at my shoes.
Footwear is an important part of accessorizing. I am here to tell you if you don’t already know it, one pair of black shoes does not go with everything. I have @*&$&#** pairs of black shoes and I still have some outfits that require a different shoe.

There is a difference as to what clothes go with a chunky heel, a high heel, open toe, a strappy shoe, one with buckles on it or ruffles on the heel, the pair of black shoes that has some white on it, or flats. There is also a difference if the shoe is shiny, matte or suede. I could go on and on. I think I just did.

The long and short is; a woman must have more than one or two pairs of black shoes. And that is just the black shoes. How about the brown, ecru, white, red, blue, striped, polk-a-dot, green, the sandals and then there is a whole ‘nother array for casual shoes.

I wear all my shoes. It’s hard to explain to a man.  Rick has four pairs. Well, if all I wore was pants and flat heels I might not have an eye for creativity either.

Men don’t wear high heels and my man would not be caught dead in a pair of red or bright green shoes. Nope brown is it, boring to the bone brown or black for him.

I figure wiith all the money we save not buying him shoes we can afford to buy more for me. After all, when in the course of history of human events has a man’s shoes ever decided his destiny?

The story of Cinderella tells it all. A girl went from rags to riches all on account of a unique pair of shoes. I think I’ll approach him with the fact that a new pair of shoes is an investment in our future.

Brilliant! That is the best argument for shoes. That Cinderella was one lucky girl in the end wasn't she?

I totally agree. Women also need lots, and lots of pants, skirts, shirts, shorts, etc. Men can get a way with 2 pairs of jeans, a couple of shirts and they are good to go. I also need a ton of yarn, and I always buy more because I just might need it for a new project.
Have a great day,
Meredith

Keith feels the same about my shoes. The funny thing for us is that because of him, I buy less shoes, and because of me, he has more shoes. I chose him a rad pair of nature-print loafers. Now I like shopping for men's shoes too!

Well, I guess I have not actually looked at it that way....as a future determining purchase.
I must be the Ugly step sister....cause I have a BUNION....and I have a hard time fitting into anything.
A bunion, changes your attitude about the sassy, sexy shoe.
I need something bunion friendly, and those usually end up looking like something Marion the Librarian would wear.

I looooooong to wear cute shoes. and actually now that I live in the country, mucking through the mud and horse poop doesn't require a pair of stilettoes, just my gum boots.

Ooo, I love shoes too! But the reason I need mine (besides that fact that I love almost every kind of heel) is that the 2 and 3 year old girls in the Sunday school class I teach can't wait to try them on.

What a great argument for shoes!! My husband likes shoes too, so there is no shoe budget left over for me to indulge. ;( I just popped by from I'm a Reader, Not a Writer and I like what I see and am now a GFC follower. I'd love to read your book!

Hi:) I'm a new follower:) I just laughed out loud when I came across this post dealing with women and shoes, because I'm a woman but not a shoe lover so I can never seem to understand the female obsession with shoes. High heels just kill me!

I have several pairs of shoes, and love them all.

That is what I am constantly telling my husband while justifying new purchases of black shoes...now I am putting away all my 'winter' shoes and pulling out my warm weather shoes he's going into shock again.

Great to 'meet' you as I am a new follower!

And Cinderella is the clincher! This reads like a humorous short story with a surprise ending. I love it! I love your live writing, and your humor. Humor is difficult to write, and you're one who can do it. I'm glad I just met you on Twitter via Celery Tree. Alas, I will likely never get to an LDS StoryMaker's conference since I'm housebound with a disabled daughter living in Virginia. But maybe... One never knows. Life is an old time rail journey, as Gordon B. Hinckley said, with occasional flashes of beautiful sunsets and sudden bursts of speed. Anything can happen.

I am now a happy follower of such a happy blog!

I love your writing and your sense of humor. As for me, I don't shop. My sister is the shopping maven. She can shop until the cows come home and feel complete. I just feel like I wasted however many days that seemed like it was...:o)
And now you have inspired me!

So very true. Shoes do shape the course of human history - and you should definitely make sure he understands this.

You go girl. Let Rick know that it is a genetic thing with females. There is a shoe gene and we cannot ignore it. If we did we would have to have therapy.LOL
